Aylesbury Advanced Motorcyclists - Social Events

A key part of the bike section is its social side.

AAM is primarily a training organisation but we need to retain the help and experience that full members and Observers can offer. We do that by planning our own events and runs to attract them. In this way members get to keep their skills up and refresh their interest in advanced riding. And AAM gets the benefit of a body of experienced riders to help the Associates.

The Group Social Ride is held on the 2nd weekend of every month. all members are welcome on our social runs. These are always carefully organised so that they are acceptable to all abilities.  Bikes should be road legal and new Associates should have undertaken at least one Observed Run.  This is for your own safety so we know you’ll not overstretch yourself on a social run.

What do I do to attend a Social Run?

Details on where to be and at what time will be announced by email and the web site. Unless otherwise stated simply turn up on time. It’s more polite to give the person organising the event a call beforehand if at all possible but don’t fret if you can’t. Run leaders are responsible to a Committee member and at least one Observer will be on a run.

Monthly meetings

The bike meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at The Oak pub, Aston Clinton and start around 7pm. They are a great way for new Associates to meet each other, as well as getting to know the Observers and other full members of the group or just a general chin wag with other bikers. And, if light allows, an informal group ride. On arrival ask to be pointed to an Observer or Senior Observer and go up to them and say ‘hello’.
